Description:	We are looking for someone who loves to program in Perl. The position is for a programmer for Compliance Technology Department of a brokerage and trading firm at our headquarters in Greenwich, CT. The candidate will have 3-5 years experience with Object Oriented Perl as well as strong software design skills. He or she should be able to think in abstractions and develop class modules in perl. People with only perl scripting and no object oriented design experience in perl should NOT apply for this position.
Required skills:	* Object Oriented Programming in Perl 5.8.x * Experience using modules, writing modules, and testing modules using the object oriented features of perl as well as the functional features * experience with DBI module. * Knowledge of SQL, preferably Oracle is required * Knowledge of Linux and use of the commandline * Basic knowledge of desktop applications such as MS Excel * Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Software Engineering or Information Technology
Desired skills:	* Familiarity with cgi and building web based tools * Familiarity with processing xml using modules such as XML::Twig * Familiarity with Test::More and a general understanding of designing tests for perl modules * Familiarity with Moose or Modern Perl is a plus * Experience with writing POD documentation for modules is a plus * Familiarity with web frameworks such as Mojolicious, Dancer, or Catalyst is a plus * Familiarity with JavaScript is a plus * Ability to read some JAVA, C, Prolog, or C++ is a plus
