  SUMMARY:
  Serves as the Senior Architect on all facets of software development for the Programming Support group. Establishes and enforces compliance with the policies and procedures that effect software development for Programming Support across many complex projects. Designs and implements high performance Perl, Java and .Net applications.
  Develops software interfaces with various databases and systems. Implements user interfaces with various web development technologies. Designs and implements database schemas. Maintains existing source code. Tests, debugs and documents software. Gathers software requirements and defines system specifications.
  Responsible, directly oversee, identify and resolve trouble tickets, manual updates for research, development, system integration and quality assurance of new systems and applications; performing routine and recurring assignments in application software, instruction and operating procedures, provide customer information and assistance, establish and evaluate technical methods and procedures; based on best practices, ensures application compliance with security measures.
  Provides expert technical leadership for the day-to-day operations of Programming Support. Act as liaison between the customer and Information Technology Business Systems Support. Identifies and resolves complex issues and problems. Provides information and assistance to customers. Evaluates established methods and procedures and prepares recommendations for changes in methods and practices where appropriate.
  REQUIREMENTS:
  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field appropriate to the work • At least 4 years of experience in software development with at least three years of experience in Perl development. • At least 3 years demonstrated management experience. • Ability to develop custom Perl packages using Object Oriented techniques, build complex data structures using references, hashes and arrays, and design software solutions based on requirements. • Demonstrated experience working in a UNIX environment. • Experience using UNIX based text editors and development tools. • Practical working knowledge of X/HTML, CSS, XML, DOM, SQL and ERD are required. • Ability to work effectively with both business and technical teams. • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal. |
